The Accidental Demon Slayer

The Accidental Demon Slayer   by  Angie Fox     description:

It’s never a good day when an ancient demon shows up on your toilet bowl. For Lizzie Brown, that’s just the beginning. Soon her hyperactive terrier starts talking, and her long-lost biker witch Grandma is hurling Smuckers jars filled with magic. Just when she thinks she’s seen it all, Lizzie learns she’s a demon slayer-and all hell is after her.

Of course, that’s not the only thing after her. Dimitri Kallinikos, a devastatingly handsome shape-shifting griffin needs Lizzie to slay a demon of his own. But how do you talk a girl you’ve never met into going straight to the underworld? Lie. And if that doesn’t work, how dangerous could a little seduction be…?

demonBOOK 1: The Accidental Demon Slayer   4 STARS

This is a fun exciting book that definitely is an interesting look at the paranormal world… Lizzie is a preschool teacher who says things like “ouchie” and “holy ship anchor” and is suddenly tossed into the world of slaying demons with throwing stars and a sword… let’s just say this wasn’t on her to-do list… I loved how everything just seemed so off the wall crazy and yet really cool… especially her biker grandma and her dog, Pirate, who she can suddenly understand and is always ready to help her… there is even a werewolf pack that lives out in an abandoned Shoney’s… and of course for there to be more books you know Lizzie had to pick up a thing or 2 to survive this one and it’s awesome how she does… all the characters, though, are rather interesting…  but I think it was the fact that Lizzie is the last person you’d expect to be doing this job that really made me like this book… even as she had to accept that what’s going on is real, she didn’t change who she was… she grew and adapted but she was still very much herself, a woman who had worked at Happy Hands Preschool…
