Grave Sight

Grave Sight  by  Charlaine Harris    description:

Harper Connelly has what you might call a strange job: she finds dead people. She can sense the final location of a person who’s passed, and share their very last moment. The way Harper sees it, she’s providing a service to the dead while bringing some closure to the living – but she’s used to most people treating her like a blood-sucking leech. Traveling with her step-brother Tolliver as manager and sometime-bodyguard, she’s become an expert at getting in, getting paid, and getting out fast. Because for the living it’s always urgent – even if the dead can wait forever.

graveBOOK 1: Grave Sight   4 STARS

I really like how this isn’t just someone who can see ghosts… when Harper as at a person’s final resting place she basically feels remaining energy that fades as time goes by… but it helps her see the last moments of the person’s life though there’s always that catch that she can’t see the killer… because that would just make it all too easy… It was an interesting kind of detective book as you learn about how she got this ability and their life… as well as the twists the investigation takes and the problems they have with the fact that no one really believes she has these abilities… all the characters in here are very interesting and alive… and each one adds a new layer to the mystery… in many ways this is like any other novel that involves an unsolved murder… because her gift only helps say there was a murder and to find bodies… but ultimately it’s up to Harper and Tolliver to put the pieces together and discover the truth on their own… I’ve already read the rest of the series and I can say it’s definitely one to check out…

    • I was thinking the same thing… the thing about this blog is as I go through my books to do the reviews I remember how awesome they were, for the most part, and then I want to read them all over again… I have to sometimes force myself to go read something new…
