Mine Till Midnight

BOOK 3: Tempt Me at Twilight  by  Lisa Kleypas

Mine Till Midnight  description:

Their lives defy convention.

When an unexpected inheritance elevates her family to the ranks of the aristocracy, Amelia Hathaway discovers that tending to her younger sisters and wayward brother was easy compared to navigating the intricacies of the ton. Even more challenging: the attraction she feels for the tall, dark, and dangerously handsome Cam Rohan.

Their desire consumes them both.

Wealthy beyond most men’s dreams, Cam has tired of society’s petty restrictions and longs to return to his “uncivilized” Gypsy roots. When the delectable Amelia appeals to him for help, he intends to offer only friendship—but intentions are no match for the desire that blindsides them both. But can a man who spurns tradition be tempted into that most time-honored arrangement: marriage? Life in London society is about to get a whole lot hotter…

midnightBOOK 1: Mine Till Midnight    3 STARS

Though this is the first book, it’s one of those series it doesn’t really seem to matter how you read it… other than perhaps a few spoilers but considering how romance novels go it’s no big surprise who ends up with who… I’m actually glad I didn’t read this book first… it’s a good romance novel and rather exciting and sweet… but the characters are just developing and Amelia’s brother, Leo, who is the official inheritor of the title that has suddenly befallen them is kind of messed up… not like a bad guy really… and you later on learn what his deal is and in the book I read first, Married by Morning, he becomes a much better man… but he’s a drunk and is destroying his life… the house they inherited is falling to pieces… and a lot of the other aristocrats don’t want to accept them because they actually come from a much more humble background… and so there’s a lot of sadness through this story that makes it a rather serious book and not exactly the fun witty reads that the rest of the series is comprised of…  it’s definitely one you wouldn’t want to leave out though if you do enjoy her books or have read others in this series…
