While investigating patient complaints as the hospital’s compliance officer, Anika is attacked by a man claiming she murdered his wife. After wickedly seductive Gabriel rescues her, she knows she isn’t quite dead when all she thinks about are his eyes devouring her in a single glance.

As Anika recovers, she receives a note urging her to ‘Stop the Murders.’ But she’s clueless as to who is about to be killed. Bewildered, she accepts Gabriel’s offer to unravel the mystery behind the message.

With the death toll rising, Gabriel refuses to deny his erotic compulsion for Anika while tracking down the murderer. Equally consumed by her own insatiable passions, Anika leaves them both vulnerable to life-threatening dangers. Their obsession to be together will either save or destroy them as well as hundreds about to be killed

Angelica Thaddeus is obviously a good writer… she has a good writing style and the plot had a lot of potential… I mean I wanted to know why people were dying in this hospital… but the story just wasn’t holding up… I know with works like this that it’s not necessarily supposed to be 100% believable… I oft times enjoy these love at first sight and overcoming the impossible type of stories even as it all seems rather unlikely… but at the same time there has to be an air of plausibility… and this book just has too many holes in the story and ask the reader to suspend their disbelief a little too much… at the very beginning when Anika basically has her face smashed in and is being choked she is saved by Gabriel who is there to watch his late wife’s mom… it’s a good set up for them to meet up and creates a believable premise of why they would team up to discover the truth… but there she is bleeding and probably in a lot of pain and Gabriel comes on to her? And after she gets her head stapled back together and put on pain meds they decide to go right then to start hunting down the truth… the time table just doesn’t make sense for such horrendous injuries… and then he’s still grieving for his wife one moment and then making obvious come on’s the next to a woman he just saw brutalized? I would understand a protective instinct that would perhaps make him feel closer to her… but not this…

and then we finally meet the woman who seems to be behind these murders for unknown reason, Dr. Rebecca… now she’s supposedly an important doctor that’s helping run this billion dollar medical industry that’s behind all this and she dresses like a common street walker and thinks that a product they’ll use to remove dead skin from patience should have a spring fresh scent added to it… it’s ludicrous… even for erotica it just doesn’t fly…

Now looking at the fact that this is supposed to be erotica… it honestly felt like she had a good murder mystery written and then shoved in some bad porno scenes… I usually love erotica… it’s sweet and romantic and may give me some ideas of what to do with my snuggles later… but most of it sounded like some overly horny teenager talk… and the few actual sexual scenes are unsatisfying… as in the characters weren’t happy at the end of it… leaving a rather depressing feel to the novel that doesn’t make for very good erotica… and honestly screwed up the actual interesting part of this story…
